Get to Know Me
Exceeding Expectations and Making a Difference Is My Calling
Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to get into a career path that would make a difference in people’s lives. This interest led me to study psychological science, while at the same time, I worked full-time in the mental health field gaining valuable first-hand experience helping others who were in what I call "various states of wellness."
For the past 35 years, I have provided mental health support for people (individuals 18 years and older, couples, families, and older adults) who are managing severe chronic mental illness, anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, overwhelming stress, bipolar disorder, addictions, feeling stuck, anger, fear, self-esteem, self-confidence, life's transitions, and communication issues. I also was a group facilitator for an anxiety depression support group as well as numerous other support groups throughout my career.
I am so invested in my compassion to help individuals, families, and couples that I invested in a specific therapy training style obtained under the direct guidance and education from none other, solution focused brief therapy expert himself, Elliott Connie. I was able to develop therapy skills needed to move away from "problem talk" to "solution talk." A style, if I may add that I believe takes less time, saves you money, and gets you to your desired outcome sooner.
I also secured the training needed to become a state authorized provider for California Gambling Education and Treatment Services (CalGETS) where I can offer free therapy services for people and their loved ones managing issues related to problem gambling.
Additionally, for trainees and associates in need of supervision for practicum or clinical licensure hours, I meet the standards for clinical supervisor as defined by the Board of Behavioral Sciences of CA.
Today as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with Level 3 Certification in Solution Focused Brief Therapy, I would be honored that you would allow me the opportunity to serve you too.
